Privacy at a glance

Your name and email
To create your family account, sign you in, send a reset link if you forget your password, and let you know when new questions are added.
Security
Your password and PIN
Stored scrambled, never as text. Nobody here can read either of them, including us.
Learner
Your child's first name and grade
So the report is about a named child rather than an account number, and so the right questions are served.

This is the product. Without the record of which wrong option was chosen, we cannot name the misunderstanding.
About your child specifically
We ask for a first name and a grade. Nothing more: no date of birth, no school, no photograph, no address. A child cannot create an account here and has no password; only a parent signs in. That is a deliberate design decision, not an oversight.
The record of what a child answered exists so the weekly report can tell you what they are finding hard. It is shown to you and to nobody else.

Five things that will not happen
- We do not sell or rent your information to anybody, ever.
- We do not show advertising, so nothing here is tracked for advertisers.
- We do not send marketing email. The only messages are about your account and new questions being added.
- We do not share your child's results with schools, teachers or anyone else.
- We do not see or collect your phone number. M-Pesa payments are handled by Safaricom and the number is hashed, so it never reaches us.
How it is kept safe
Everything you share with us is kept safe. Passwords and PINs are stored scrambled and never as text, so nobody here can read them, including us, and information travels encrypted between your phone and us.
How long we keep it
While your account exists, because the point of the report is to show progress over time, last week compared with this one. Ask us to delete the account and we delete it, along with your child's answers. Records of payments are kept longer, because we are required to be able to account for money received.
What you can ask for
- A copy of everything we hold about you and your child
- Correction of anything wrong: a misspelled name, the wrong grade
- Deletion of the account and the answers
- An explanation of anything on this page that is unclear
Write to [email protected] and we will respond promptly.
Cookies
We do not use tracking cookies and there is no advertising here. Your browser stores a sign-in token so you are not asked for your password on every page, and remembers which subject your child was practising. Both live on your own device and can be cleared at any time by signing out.
Changes to this page
If we begin collecting something new, this page is updated and the date at the top changes. Anything significant (a new company handling your information, a new purpose) we will tell you by email rather than quietly editing.
